For the past week, the lives of the newly recruited soldiers had revolved around administrative matters, doing nothing but tedious paperwork. However this was about to change. The new recruits had just been moved to a training facility situated in the outskirts of Lavender Town and their trainer was none other than the notorious Sergeant Malcom Alvand.

Harsh was an understatement to the training that the Kanto Military Force had prepared for them. The strenuous daily physical activity pumped up the recruits' muscles while the monotonous lectures worked their brain. Though many complained about the program, none fell out as they knew that this was all necessary for the coming battle.

The obstacle course was one of the hardest training exercises that the recruits had to undergo. Cedric Starkry, our protagonist, was attacked by Sarge, Malcom's Swampert while he was crossing the barb wire course with his Trapinch.

Sarge had leapt into the air and lifted his giant fists in the air as it prepare to bring a world of pain to the recruit with his Hammer Arm. Being trapped under the wires, Cedric could only worked his limbs to crawl out of that dangerous position.
